About This Hunt

Hunt Country
In Devon, its southern boundary the sea. In parts very hilly, generally good scenting.

Adjacent Packs: South Devon, Mid Devon, East Devon, Eggesford and Tiverton.

Hunt History
Established in the 19th century as a trencher-fed pack of harriers, but in 1963, Tom Webber Esq. had them in kennel and they have been so ever since. Mr Webber bred a fine pack of Old English badger-pie hounds, hunting hare and some fox. The change to fox was accelerated during the Mastership of F W Cuming Esq., and under H F Brunskill Esq., who brought his own pack of foxhounds from Exmoor. the old Silverton pack continued to hunt hare under Messrs Wilcocks and Rew, and after one season, Mr Brunskill left the country and the two masters hunted both packs, each twice a week.
